COMMISSION A PAINTING STUDY

Why Commission a Study

Are you looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for your spouse’s birthday, upcoming anniversary, or your boss’s retirement?

A painting study is your answer!

I will create a 6″ x 6″ or 5″ x 7″ pastel painting based on the photo* you supply.

Watch Your Painting Study Being Created

That’s right! I will make a video of your painting study and publish the video on my YouTube channel, Siti Nuriati Studio. This way, not only will you have the painting, but you’ll also get to watch it being created from start to finish.

A great way to tell the story of your painting and watch it being painted by an artist!

You can order your painting study with or without a frame. Below is an example of the painting study.

FAQ

What to commission?

What story do you want to tell about your family?

Here are a few suggestions; flowers and fruits from your parents’ garden, grandma’s antique teacups, or your wedding flowers. I welcome painting the beautiful mementos that you want to preserve for future generations.

Can I commission any subject?

Glad you asked. Since I only paint still lifes now, I no longer do portraits of humans and animals. There are a few limitations to what subjects I accept for commissions.

Generally, I paint all kinds of subjects. I encourage you to take a look at my work so you are familiar with the kind of art I do. But, if you’re not sure if a subject you desire to be painted will be acceptable, email a photo of the desired subject. I will let you know if I can paint the requested subject within 24 hours.

*Restrictions apply. No humans or animals will be portrayed in commissions.

What medium do you use?

Your custom painting will be painted in pastel on high-quality, acid-free sanded paper.

When can I expect my painting to be finished?

Paintings take approximately 1 month to complete, depending on the number of commissions. Rest assured that I will inform you if there is such a delay.

I need my painting fast — like in 2 weeks!

On a case-to-case basis, I occasionally accept rush commissions. We require a 70% deposit upfront plus an additional 20% rush fee to jump to the front of the line

How do I make payment?

Payments for commissions are made via direct bank transfer.

Do I have to order a painting study when I place an actual commissioned painting?

A painting study comes free with a painting commission. But, if you’re not sure which photo you want me to use to make a painting from, ordering a painting study is the best way to see your painting visualized in your home with minimal cost.

When you decide to create a larger painting from the study, the cost of the painting study will be deducted from the cost of the painting commission. So, in reality, the study is free!

How do I order a painting study?

  • 1. Choose your desired photo
  • 2. Order your painting study (you can order as many studies as you want)
  • 3. Approve it
  • 4. Proceed to larger painting

What’s your refund policy?

All sales are final after the initial painting has been approved. You will have a chance, during the commission process, to confirm that the painting matches your vision.

What’s your return policy?

No returns are allowed after the initial painting has been approved. All purchases of commissions are final.

I received the painting but the frame is damaged. What should I do?

We’ll do our best to ensure the painting is packaged with the utmost care. However, if it arrives damaged, due to shipping, you must report the damage, with photographic proof, within 3 business days of product delivery.

You’ll be notified of what to do via email. We’ll replace the frame and ship the painting back to you at no charge.

What’s your delivery procedure and what shipping carrier do you use?

If you’re local, we’ll deliver your painting at no charge. You’re also welcome to stop by the studio and pick up your painting. Simply email us to make an appointment. Otherwise, your finished painting will be shipped via UPS.
