Eid Mubarak. Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri from the Friedman family. May Allah accept our fasting and good deeds.
Can’t believe that Ramadan 2019 just passed and now we’re already celebrating Eid. Alhamdulillah, thanks be to God, that I am witnessing this Eid with my family once again. As I’m getting older, I’m reminded every single day that life is too short not to take advantage of doing good things and cherishing every moment to love my family to the fullest.
Here are some pictures taken after the Eid Prayer at North Hollywood Park in North Hollywood, CA. Since I was so busy giving out my homemade cookies, I forgot to take family pictures at the park. 🙂
I planned to give out goody bags on Eid but time was limited for me to get the stuff together. So I thought, why not bake my favorite thumbprint cookies and bring them instead. It was an impulse decision and I hadn’t thought much about it. I simply had the idea and took action upon it.
On Eid, I managed to give out cookies to more than 150 people, mainly the fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, after the prayer. Later, I approached some people at the park and offered them some cookies. Some even asked me what the gathering was all about. Before we headed home, we dropped off our eldest son at his school. While there, I offered my cookies to some staff.
We scheduled official family photos for Eid at our home a week later. This year, we took the time to repaint our living room for the first time (learn more about our DIY home project).
I hope you had a blessed Eid with your loved ones!
