Yesterday, I chose a complicated subject as my first daily painting, so today I chose to paint a simpler one, a tomato. I love its bright colors and, if you’re just starting out, it’s an easy subject to find and paint. In fact, if you’d like you can go out to the market right now and buy some.
When I was a child, I loved eating tomatoes right out of the bag. I’d ask my mom for a tomato or two so I could just eat them raw. Those are some of the fondest memories of my childhood.
After I moved to the US, I learned from my late father-in-law to eat tomatoes with a sprinkle of salt. It tastes so much better. Who knew salt could make such a difference. Well, at least for me.
